Want to write for Savvy Mums Business? Perhaps submit a video blog? Great! We’re always looking for well-written contributions that our readers will love. Before you submit an article, please read the following information carefully.

What we look for in articles

The following guidelines will help increase your chances of your article being accepted for publication on our website:

  • Articles must be between 600 – 1000 words, around 800 is ideal
  • Video articles should be between 5-10 minutes ideally
  • Articles must be unique and not previously published elsewhere
  • Articles must be well-written and free from factual errors
  • Articles must be informative rather than self-promotional

You can also include a short bio, your photo, and a link for our readers to find out more about you.

Your content should be evergreen for longevity and you should use a permanent link to your website, rather than a time-sensitive one.

A few guest post samples from our site to give you an idea of what we’re looking for…

We particularly love articles that include a personal story or examples as well as a list format of ideas or actions that our readers can take. For example “5 business skills I learned from becoming a mum” or “8 steps to living a simpler life”

A bit about Savvy Mums readers

Our readers are self-employed mums, mostly UK based, and generally have school-aged children. They’re determined mothers looking for flexible ways to follow their passion and provide for their family without being out of the house working all week.

The 12,000 unique visitors a month we receive are interested in small business advice, marketing and using social media for business – as well as articles about family life, health and wellbeing, business and self-development.

All articles must be relevant to our readership and fit within the sections of our website, supporting self-employed mums.

When your article will appear

We usually publish articles within four weeks of receiving them. If we decide to publish your article we’ll let you know.

The process is selective and all articles are subject to editing. Headlines are subject to change, content may be edited for style or substance, links may be added, and images will be added at our discretion.

We do not pay for articles, but we make sure that your time spent writing for us is worth it! Once published we will promote your article across our social media, and continue sharing on Facebook and Twitter regularly – helping to ensure your article has continued visibility well into the future. It will also be shared to our email list.

If you don’t already, we recommend you follow us on Twitter and like our Facebook page.

To submit your article for consideration, send it as a Word Document or Google Document to: savvymumsbusiness@gmail.com

We look forward to hearing from you!
